Have you ever gone shopping and seen those gorgeous fall boots you have been dreaming of all summer long? You slip into the boots, start zipping them up, and get stuck at mid-calf. The sales associate gives you that look and says, “You should try a bigger size.” You leave the store feeling that your legs are the problem.
I have good news. Your legs are not the problem. After years of trial and error, I’ve figured out what actually works for curvy women.

Ankle Boots
Ankle boots are one of the most flattering fall boots for curvy women. They are incredibly versatile, making them a great investment for your fall wardrobe. Ankle boots are easy to style. Pair them with straight-leg jeans, a striped rugby shirt, and a trench coat.

Pointed-toe ankle boots are my favorite as a 5’2″ curvy lady. They create an invisible vertical line that elongates the lower body.
Knee-High Boots (Wide-Calf)
The knee-high boot is the ultimate fall staple. It’s classic and incredibly versatile. However, curvy women should pay attention to both the calf circumference and shaft height.

A boot could be labeled wide-calf, but it still fits differently depending on its material and design. Stretch panels, soft leather, and adjustable closures can help create a more comfortable fit.

Western-Inspired Boots
Do you love more drama and personality? Then this is the fall boot for you. Think subtle stitching and a curved heel, in a comfortable mid-calf or ankle height. Pair your western boots with a denim skirt or a floral dress. For a modern look, try chocolate-brown western boots with a denim-on-denim outfit.

Over-The-Knee Boots for Curvy Women
For years, I assumed over-the-knee boots were not meant for curvy women like me. Then I tried a pair with a stretchy fit, and honestly, I felt like a different person.

The secret is choosing over-the-knee boots with a little elasticity. I’m partial to suede boots because they look sophisticated. What do you think?

Tips To Shop The Best Fall Boots
Grab a measuring tape and wrap it around the widest part of your calf, ideally while you’re standing. Most wide-calf boots start around 16 inches, though it varies by brand. Knowing your calf measurement will save you from the heartbreak of returning a gorgeous pair you waited weeks for.
Never skip the boot break-in test. Walk around in your living room for twenty minutes. If your feet are complaining at minute five, they will be screaming by lunch.
Finding the best fall boots for curvy women shouldn’t mean sacrificing style or comfort. Use these tips to find a pair that makes you feel comfortable and confident. Need more seasonal styling tips? Then check out 5 Stylish Plus Size Coats Every Woman Needs!
